This is a brief report of our 1st Friday of the month meeting.

BRITISH NIGHT

This meeting different than any other held at the North Wales Branch in it's 15 year history!!  The reason - Fish and Chips!!

Everyone was asked to come to the meeting dressed in red, white and/or blue and the majority of the 85 people there did so.  Union Jacks, Welsh Dragon, Irish and Scottish flags decorated the room setting the scene for a great night.

Deg Bruce was the MC for the evening assisted by Tony Humphries as organiser.  There were several outstanding performances in the first half leading up to the eagerly awaited fish and chips.  A running progress report was given by Deg as to the fish arriving at Mostyn Dock being battered (or was that beaten up!!) and being hurried back to Connahs Quay for the hungry hoards!!

The other people in the fish and chip shop queue were not very happy when we ordered 75 lots of fish and chips, but most of the portions were already pre-prepared after our phone call as arranged with them several months earlier.  They were all boxed, put in the car at The Fry-Inn, Flint then sped back (without police escort) to the club. They were then off-loaded and distributed to those with tickets in record breaking time.  Each portion still piping hot and delicious.

Despite the full bellies, the second half-performace came up to the high standard of the first.

The Wrexham Leader photographer was present and took lots of pictures - If anyone has spotted these in the press could you let us know please.

The night drew to an end at 10.45pm with the usual thrash.

So, for the usual entrance fee of £1.00 everyone had fish and chips, a cup of tea, buscuits and a full nights entertainment - It makes you proud to be BRITISH and a member of the NORTH WALES GEORGE FORMBY SOCIETY!!!!
